I am running the 4 pot XT calipers on my bike and they don't feel much more powerful than my previous Deore 525's. Anyone have better performance running Shimano rotors (8") with the XT's than using Hayes rotors? The Hayes rotors have large cutouts compared to the narrower (in the radial direction) size of the XT pads. I wonder if I would get better perforance with the Shimano rotors instead of the current 8" Hayes that I am using. Anyone try both rotors? Thanks.

I haven't run the same combo

but i have run Hayes HFX 9 calipers with Shimano XT and XTR 6" rotors and did not notice a reduction in power. I have also tried the Hayes V8 caliper with Shimano XTR calipers (metallic and resin pad combo) with no reduction of power. Both brake pads and rotors were well bedded in before the swap which maybe the reason it felt pretty good.

I've experienced the same issues when using the Hayes rotors and the 4 pot XTs..
I just went back to the oem shimano rotors...

Thanks...I think I try the Shimano rotors....

and see if that makes a difference.
