So I took the new bike out for it's 4th ride today on a loop in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve that I have been riding since the early 90's when I first started riding off road with the guys from Casey's Classics. This was the 9th new bike I have ridden on this trail and it is by far the best. I'm not sure if I inserted the link correctly but below is the track from my MotionX program on my iPhone. I have no idea of most of the trail numbers other than about half of it being trail 100 and I think the trail I take into squaw peak park is trail 302 (the trail to the west of the two that come in on the north end)

It is so nice to have a mountain bike again!!!!!

Nice, just a tip, and ignore if you are already aware, but you don't have to go all the way up to Lincoln on the Canal and cut back. You can take a right at Granada Park on 20th St, cut over on Ocotillo to 21st, cut accross the Church/School Parking lot and cross Lincoln at the light at 22nd, head up 22nd to State, turn left at State, right at 20th and it will lead you right into the PMP on a narrow trail between the houses and the 51. You may cut a few canal/road miles out and add a bit more singletrack. It also looks like you take the 302 towards the A&W to get out. You can always take more singletrack to the 44th St parking lot and then take 44th St back to your house - for variety. Just a few other options.
