As you can tell from the title, I went out to the shed this morning and found my bottle of Orange Seal endurance fully hardened into a rubber plug in the bottom of the bottle. I think the lid was on tight.

The only other thing I can think of is maybe the seasonality of Denver 'burbs had something to do with it. Cold winters and hot summers? Maybe I need to keep my bottle in the house? :shrugs:

Or use something else?

it stays liquid forever if it is sealed

I buy 32 oz jugs of this and sometimes it'll be over a year after opening it
before getting back to using it from same jug....but I use rescue tape to reseal it and keep air out

after opening, the only thing that can make it last is using it up
or using rescue tape (self adhesive silicone tape) and cutting long slice from it, and using that to
rewrap a tight seal around the cap and neck of bottle. about as tight as you can make it

otherwise oseal should be stored indoors, and go shake the bottle every 2 weeks or so if you
aren't using it

Got it thanks.

Are there other brands of tubeless sealant that are less sensitive to hardening in the bottle?

Just looked at two bottle of OS Endurance; they have dates on them. Older bottle has a 10/2018 date (I think that is manufacture date), forgot to use it up and it is still liquid. Newer bottle has an expiration date of 12/2023. I keep them in my basement without anything more than tightly closing the cap, temp stays between about 55 and 80. Shaking now and then not a bad idea though.

If you store them upside down in the event it's not sealed all the way it's less likely to dry the whole thing out.

If only they made something that would plug little air leaks. :p

I've had some bottles of Orange seal that were about 75% used and sitting on the garage shelf for 7-8 months that were perfectly fine when I finally grabbed them again.

Have to agree with above, must not have actually been sealed up enough.

FYI: your title said pretty much none of that!

Just messing with you because people say to often "as the title says" and continue on saying something totally different.

I have a quart bottle of Stans in my kitchen....keeps it out of the 900 degree garage. And I shake it up when I think about it.
I used to use the 2oz bottles of Stans and even those with the little cap back over the tip have never dried up. I'd get the larger bottle and pour it into the small bottles to fill the tire via the valve stem. Each time I was ready for a top-off, the old 2oz bottle had liquid in in. Image how little liquid is remaining in the bottle by percent of space.

This happened me as well. I had a brand new bottle of orange seal sitting in a bag in the trunk of my car for a few months. When I went to use it I took off the seal and the end was plugged. I pulled out a small cylinder shaped plug and the rest was fine. I shook it up and used it. Still working so far. Like the OP.. I live and work at high altitude (7000 ft)
Maybe this has something to do with it. I will leave it inside for now on and see if that helps.

Do you think that electrical tape would do the trick too?
Another question would be what other uses does that tape have?
electrical tape no way, it won't seal nor stick permanently. plus it's a total mess, has bad adhesive creep

silicone tape is good for making grips on tools, sealing adhesive or caulk tubes if you want to save the rest, electrical insulation, it has a lot of uses but one thing it is, its clean and not sticky. very heat resistant

this stuff, you wrap it, put it away,.... cut of off or yank it off when you wanna use the sealant, then make another tape wrap and store jug until next time. stretchy and self fusing and 100% clean

Thank you, never heard about that and it sounds like it should have a place in my tool box.👍

Maybe there are some bad batches out there. I'm up in the Wasatch Back at about 6500', hot, dry and I've had bottles sit around over the winter and summer with no issues. I don't seal them with tape or go to any great lengths to prevent it from drying out in the bottle. I just shake it up before pouring it out.
