We got 12" of snow on Friday. Its the soft, fluffy kind so there's no chance for traction off road. Unsprung has been forever bugging me about the great road riding around his house, I would typically respond with a yawn sound.
After talking to Unsprung last night he convinced me to try out a road ride. I pulled the HT out of the garage, pumped the tires up to 50 psi and headed over to his house this morning.
You know what? I had fun. It wasn't as technically challenging (though the intermittent ice and snow on the road did make for some interesting corners at speed). We rode for a couple of hours, it was great to hammer up hills, pushing as hard as I could for a really long time. I still like MTBing better, but it was a good alternative to sitting on the couch all weekend.
