Here goes. Over the last few years I've had posts up on the board like "why I suck at racing" and others like it. I've gotten some great ideas from you all. So it only seems fair that I share something good and not be such a downer. I can now say after 3 years of racing wors comp I got my first podium ever, a fourth (for my age) last month and then a third just last Saturday. I'll admit I still suck at climbing but I think it's a little less noticeable since some others bumped up in class. I have tons of work still to do but I did want to thank the online community for their suggestions.

Awesome!!!

How bout a podium pic?

Should feel real good about it. From looking at the WORS website, looks like a real, real tough series. Getting a podium there is probably just as tough as any national event, for most skill levels.

Have you been racing at the same level over that period though, or doing up through the grades? If you've been moving up consistently, then fair enough you might not be seeing any podiums.

I myself in 16 months of riding have only had two 1st places, both at different crit circuits, and a handful of 2nds and 3rds in various events (XCM, XCO, XCC), but usually I'm outside sitting around 10th give or take 5 places as I keep moving up grades.

I think I bit off more than I could chew by starting at comp. It has been a real struggle but I told myself that it'd be that much sweeter when it happened.

I'm working on it.
i have a buddy who lives in wisconsin and races there. i also planned on racing there one year. he says it's a tough crowd up there
I think it is very competitive. Just about every other weekend for a total of 12 races and each Sunday can have between 600-800ish racers
Thanks all.

While this thread is active, might be worth mentioning I grabbed my first B-grade podium at Westgate tonight. Crits at Westgate tend to be a bit higher standard than most other clubs events I've been racing.
