My addiction

I just wanted to share my obsession and my story.

I can't begin to describe how much I love mountain biking, but I'll try. I bought a Raleigh M80 back in 2002 just cause I wanted to have a bike to get around on. Not realizing what I was getting into. I had no knowledge of the sport at all. About 5 years ago I met a friend that showed me the ropes and I was hooked. Now, I eat and sleep mountain biking. At work, I am on this forum (and many others) every chance I get. I also do excel spreadsheets on dream builds. At home during the week, I disassemble and assemble my bike just to tinker. On the weekends I ride as much as I can even if its just the tow path and fire roads. When I sleep, I dream about Moab and new bike setups.

I'M OBSESSED!!! But I have little time and very little money to feed my addiction. With a wife and kids, and being in the military, riding times and upgrades are scarce. Winter in Cleveland reallllly sucks. I've got Rays MTB Park here, but I don't have the money to go every weekend.

Anyway, there's my story. And hopefully in the near future, I will be able to partake in those great adventures I read about in this forum everyday.

Your story is similiar to almost everyone here. It's a healthy addiction. Enjoy it.

Ditto ! As for Rays... Their $300 season pass is a bit steep and you would likely get tired of the same old thing over and over like that. I can usually get my fill of it in just two or three trips a year. Best to you and hope you are able to enjoy many miles in the coming year.

Life is short.... Keep riding !
