Nice. I dig the thumb shifters, very old school. I've got a pair of DX shifters laying around somewhere from back in the day that I'm planning on slappin' on the Bridgestone MB-1 that I bought for $50 at a garage sale.

Oh and by the way welcome to the Pooftas!

5 Spot

I've had the 5 Spot for over a year. Last Nov I was in Moab and broke the rear shifter near the end of Porcupine Rim. The first shop went to told me to upgrade, the next 3 shops just looked at me funny but at the 5th shop the mechnic said "yeah, I think we have a set in stock". Sure enough they had a set of LX which I put on the XT mount and I was back in business.

5 vs Loco

How does the ride of the 5-spot compare to the Loco-moto?

Considering that simple low maintenance, low pivot design for my next bike.

Very nice ride, I like the raw al rear ends the best. I would like to here about the Titus too, not as a comparison to the 5'er, that old nasty single pivot thing vs the linkage, but I have been thinking about getting one for my 5'1" wife.

5 vs LM

I think that with a new stable platform shock the Loco would be much better at pedaling and climbing. The 5 soaks up bumps better but part of this is air vs coil and part Horst link. Standover is excellent on the Loco and it is very well made and pretty stiff. I really thought that the Loco was geat until I rode the 5 Spot but then the 5 is a lot more money.
