Hey folks, I am looking at going to Bryce Resort this year. I am just dabbling in gravity stuff for now and don't want to go all in. Can someone educate me on the differences between motocross and MTB DH gear? I have full MX gear and hodge podging it together for a trip looks like a good idea since they are both designed for when you go splat.

Also, please keep it real with me with regards to helmet safety standards. I don't play around with that and will gladly buy a MTB full face vs using my MX lid.

Your MX gear will do just fine. If you start riding parks more frequently then you can start investing in bike specific gear. As far as the helmet goes an mx helmet is definitely heavier but you won't know the difference since that is what you are used to. Just a warning.. If you liked riding moto your gonna get hooked on D.H.

Solid. Thanks yall. And I hope not, I need another 2-wheeled addiction + supporting gear/bike like I need a bullet in my head :)

Good luck with not catching the DH virus. But after you do, make plans on heading to Snowshoe. Best trails on the east coast,
