06 MX Comp ETA/TAS

I posted up in the shock forum but didn't get any responses....since the issue is Clyde-related, I'll ask here..

Got MX Comp ETA/TAS a month or so ago. Love the fork....but it's a little soft. I'm 230# fully loaded...and I find myself jacking up the air compression (70-75psi) in order to get the right stiffness while riding. When I do this, however, it makes the ETA very difficult to actuate...if not ineffective. Does this sound like a spring issue? Does anyone know what spring these Bombers come with oem?

That sounds odd.

I'm 215 without gear on, and I've got the shock at 55psi and it's perfect.

Super stiff when ETA is on (the shock moves down about 75%-85% of the way). Very nice and plush when it's not.

But I have the 105mm '05.

Hmm..heard back from Marzocchi, who said the OE fork comes set up for a 185lb rider, mentioned nothing of getting a different spring, but suggested adding some oil and going 45-50psi. Weird, yes. I like a stiff front end though...maybe it's just preference. I think I'll double sag and all my settings...gonna continue to research stiffer spring. Thx for the reply bandido..

I would go with a heavier spring then add more oil if that was necessary

Why adding some oil whould help engage ETA??
I'm assuming you would add oil to the ETA side, right?
Too much oil will limit the max travel of the forks...

I've noticed a similar problem on my Marathon XC, but it happens if I pump more than 60psi or so. I'm 215 and 50psi works well for me.
But it may be different for you, as sag depends on how weight is distributed beween front and rear wheel, which in turn depends on your bike geometry.
