Looks like Mudhugger makes the best option for workable mud fenders. But hard to tell online which model will actually fit/work effectively.

Have had no luck contacting any dealers.

Any suggestions?

I'm riding a Turbo Levo Large 2021 (29 from/rear)

Thanks!

I have a Mudhugger "Long" rear fender on my Tallboy LTc. When I bought it in 2016 it was the biggest/best option I could find.

I love it, it keeps mud off me, my seat, and my dropper post. And it stays put! I was so sick of clip on fenders that moved all around. You wrap your stays with helicopter tape then attach the fender with zip ties, it is rock solid.

But it ends at the seat stays so what happens is mud and water spray onto the front derailleur and shock linkage. I made various mud guards using thin plastic that mostly addressed this, but it was hard to shape it just right. Worked OK but looked janky.

I just now have come up with something much better. I had a Mudhugger FRX on the front, and just now upgraded to a RRP ProGuard V.2 Zip-Tie Front Mudguard
in the Max size. I then repurposed the FRX by attaching it to my chainstays and the rear Mudhugger. Just had to trim a little off the bottom and make a little clearance for the chain. Several wet rides and it is working great. Now I know from experience that if I get into some real sticky mud it could pack up in there but I try to avoid that **** anyway.

Now I see they offer the "Large" which is even bigger, my old "Long" now appears to be called the "Medium".

The new "Large" is said to be designed around your exact bike, and other bikes with low seat stay angles. I would like to upgrade, but Mudhugger UK says they can't ship to the USA right now, and Mughugger US lists them as out of stock. I sent them an email asking when they might be available and haven't heard back yet. I will try to call them today. I have seen some available on ebay, but it is not always clear if these are the new version or the old, and most are out of stock and/or won't ship to USA.
