I will be moving out to the Door county area for the next few months and was interested in current mountain bike trails. Judging by past threads Kewaunee(sp?) winter park is the best spot in the area? The trail review on it was pretty old though so I wanted to check and see if anything has changed in the past year. Also, is there a mtb/road club in the area? It's looking like my road bike will be getting more action in the next couple months haha....

Was at Kewaunee a couple of years ago and the trail near the ski hill was closed. Don't know the current situation but like the previous post said, check out fattireguides.com. I biked in Peninsula State Park in May of this year and they have a few miles of singletrack which aren't too technical. The singletrack looked like it was fairly new. They have many other miles of trails there to check out as well. There's also some biking trails up at Newport State Park.

Kewaunee - DNR section is closed, but there is a fun 3.5'ish mile loop that starts from the woods just uphill of the chalet. Start from the SW corner of the parking lot and go into the woods. Pass the first obvious singletrack on the S side of a small bridge, and follow the arrows just on the other side of the bridge. Trail could use a little work IMO just because of some of the off-camber descents, but it's a fun time. Up and down that f'n hill about six times in one loop. Great training ride.

Green Bay - Might as well check those trails as well since they're not much further away. Baird Creek off University Ave on the east side is closest, and then the Reforestation Camp NW of town is good for fast and flowy.

PSP in Door County is not much for MTB, but I love that park.

Winter Park also has a lesser known sister that is only a few miles away, so you can ride both in one trip. Riverview is an ATV park with a pretty decent mtb trail weaved in. Both could use a little clean up, but definitely fun. And as Wheelock said, Bairds and Stumpfarm are worth the drive.

HEy, DC resident in the house!!!

Mt. Biking in Door Co is limited to a small section of single track in Peninsula State Park.

Otherwise there is Reforestation camp in Brown Co.

Invest in a road bike and hit the bluff. See what kind of hill climber you are.

And if you want to ride, hit me up!!!!!!!!
