I may have to relocate from NorCal to Spokane for work.
I am curious what kind of MTB trials and other recreation is up in this area.

Thanks,

Lots to choose from, from easy scenic singletrack to free riding to alpine epics....

I relocated from Contra Costa 20 years ago and have never, ever regretted it.
jump on a Tuesday night or Wednesday night ride with one of the bikes shops
North Division Cycles (tues) Bike Butler (wed)
good place to meet riders and learn the trails

Beacon has a good selection of freeride, and All mountain XC type stuff you can link up.
Starting at Esmeralda Golf Course parking lot is a good challenging all around ride

Riverside state Park starting near 7-mile bridge excellent XC loops all over, best to ride early in the morning or at night

Mt. Spokane is good Alpine Single track but July 1st the road is closing so that will make it interesting to get up.

Also Coeur D Alene has a few awesome DH type trails with good climbs to the top.
Check out the Mountaineers

If you are into both summer and winter outdoor recreation, then check out the Spokane Mountaineers (www.spokanemountaineers.org). We have a very active mountain bike group that has a scheduled ride every Thursday at all the main venues around town, usually with 20-30 riders in groups of 5-8 or so based on ability/aerobic capacity. And several of us frequently take weekend trips to other great riding locations in the surrounding Idaho/Montana/Oregon/BC area, with some extended trips to places like Moab, Crested Butte, Whistler, etc. The Mountaineers also lead a great many other activities such as rock climbing, canoeing/kayaking, downhill/cross country/backcountry skiing, hiking/snowshoeing and backpacking. With over 600 members and more than half a dozen different events scheduled every week, you'll never be bored.
