Hi there,

I'm about to buy MTB shoes and clipless pedals. I ride casual cross country tours most of the time. Nothing extreme.

My favourite pair will be:
- Bontrager Foray shoes
- HT T1 pedals

I'm afraid that the pedals are to wider for this shoes? Will this be an issue?

Also are Foray shoes with stiffness index 6 of 12 good enough for hiking a bike over muddy and steep rocky section.

I can swap the shoes or pedals for other (HT M1), but this is by far the best combo available in my area.

However I'm not sure this will fit well since this will be my first clipless and I don't know what to expect.

Please share your opinion about this.

I'm not familiar specifically with Foray shoes, but just from looking at images, and comparing to shoes I've tried in the past that look similar, I'd guess they're not a great "hike a bike" shoe.
