Might be in north atlanta area (marietta) this weekend and wondering if anyone has any good recommendations on mountain bike rentals around. also i'm assuming the best riding is in the Chattahoochee, Ill take recommendations on that too. The longer/harder the rides the better! :)

thanks!

I was just up there and rented a bike from Cycleworks of Roswell. It was a Gary Fisher Marlin. Very entry level bike, BUT I was happy to be able to ride and the shop is an honest 5 minutes from Big Creek. It was a very very fun trail. Not sure but I think this is about 20 min north of Marietta. It was about a 30 min drive from where I was in Dacula. I was real close to Fort Yargo and about 30 min to chicopee woods, but big creek was right next to the only shop I could find that would rent a bike.

Never rented from these guys but one of the few mechanics in Atlanta that I trust to work on my bike works (major bike trust issues) here so I'd be willing to bet they are pretty sharp.

Go up to Ellijay and pretty much any trail you find will be good. I'd recommend doing Bear Creek and some of the Pinhoti Sections in the area.

The trails you reference at the River are the Sope Creek Trails. Details HERE or email me and I'll gladly ride with ya.

Other good trails include Blankets Creek in Woodstock and Big Creek (mentioned above). Info for both can be found on the trails page at SORBA Atlanta.

What size bike do you need? I may have something that will work.

Blankets is a fun place to ride for xc if you are looking for more all mountain rideing than bear creek is your place.

Check Free Flite bicycles as they rent real mountain bikes! 75 dollars for 24 hours gets you a full suspension Gary Fisher or Trek. Retail on their rental bikes is between 2200.00 and 2500.00 so you get to ride a pretty decent bike and they are less than 1/2 hour drom Blankets Creek. The guys at Free Flight are some of the best I found so far and I would trust any of them with my bike! PH# 770-422-5237

+1 for outspokin Little bit of a bike snobs bike shop but they have nice rental bikes. The guys and free flite bikes are a little more down do earth, but I just don't like treks. The tires they come with are just crap.
