I found the thread about our jobs interesting. Like I said earlier there appears to be a nice network of talented people in this forum. Please take the time to list your profession here and I for one can promise I will try my best to give a fellow mountain biker some business if I can!

My name is Ross Cobb and I am the Designated Broker and one of the majority owners of Long Realty-Alliance here in the Valley. I also list and represent buyers in real estate and have a full real estate team. I also ride!

We have a full property management company and manage over 150 homes and will be growing soon. Why this is important to my fellow riders is that because of my real estate sales, access to over 140 agents that work at my office and the volume of homes we manage I am able to hand out tons of referrals. So post up your stuff! Also send me an email and I will try my best to get you some business.

Thanks,

Ross Cobb

Let me know if you do:
- Landscaping work - not just cutting grass and trimming trees, but heavy-duty re-doing of existing sucky landscaping
- Handyman electrical work that I would electrocute myself on
- Escort serv...oh, sorry, wrong forum...

Real estate is great! Even in a challenging market I have learned if you do the right thing and stay focused everything else falls in line!. I imagine that is probably true with anything you are passionate about!

BTW you guys that need referrals for stuff I have a bunch of good peeps out there to send you...... but lets see if we have some fellow riders out there first! I really think it would be cool if people on the forum help each other out.

I have only made a few posts here but I have to tell you the responses I have had and offers to go on rides and hang out have been very uplifting for me. It really is a cool community!

Let me know if you think this referral thread is out of line or innapropriate for this forum. I personally think if you guys and the moderators think this could be a good thing for the members it should go sticky and become a cool resource. Just my opinion:)

Walt,

Let me know if you don't get any good leads here for the work you need done. If not I can probably get you a few names.

What kind of electric/handyman stuff do you need done? Do you want licensed or is a quality unlisensed worker do? Kinda depends on the scope of the work but I have found that if it is not too crazy you can save some dollars going un-liscensed.

See Ya,
Ross

I live and work in both Laguna Beach, CA and Prescott.

In Arizona I am a private investor that builds spec houses in North Prescott Valley. See my signature for more info.
Some lovely looking properties there. I especially like the tiling around the shower/bath.

We'd love to self build here in the UK but the combination of high land prices (for land with planning consent) and obtaining planning permission (on cheaper land without planning consent) makes it a particularly expensive option with limited choices.

How does the paperwork side compare in Arizona?

I'll play also.

I'm an operations manager for a concrete company.
We do mostly pool decking, but venture into flat work (slabs, walkways and drives.)
I've also built pools for two of the top three pool company's in the valley for the past 13 years, so if ya need help/advice with that bend my ear.

Work for the family business which originally was the designing and installation of after-market auto a/c systems. We always have done general auto a/c repair also. With the new refrigerant laws and most vehicles coming with A/C these days we have ventured off more in the repair and parts side of things with local, national and on-line store. Location is on the west side of Phoenix and we have been in business since the early 70's. When the heat comes back around if anyone needs their auto A/C looked at let me know, I'll always cut a deal for a fellow rider! Just mention MTBR but you will have to contact me as the sales/service guys do not ride.

PS: Any weekend mechanics ever need any information on their vehicles drop me an email. I have Mitchell On-Demand which is an industry technical reference for automotive vehicles. Information is for autos in general not just A/C work.

I can only compare it to building in California, building in Arizona is generaly easy because in is the "Old West" and private property rights are strong. But as more Californains move in so does the homeowners associations and more rules to follow. It is easier to build outside of town limits but then you run into water problems which is a big problem in the desert.

Well I'm an urban planner so I don't have much to offer, but I NEED lots of things. New roof for the house, block wall around the yard, ac/heater work for the house, tires for a VW bus, the list could go on for days.;)

I work for Maricopa County, a little over a year now. It's been interesting so far, I think it's different than any other planning job in that we don't go out and look to develop anything, other people come to us with developments and we approve or deny. What company are you at?

Snell & Wilmer, it's a law firm but I work in their land use/zoning group, good gig, I get to work on some pretty cool projects. I just submitted something to your office yesterday, nothing big just a use permit application.

Real-Estate Financing.

Great thread. This could really come in handy!

...and I can finally say MTBR is "work related"!

I provide nationwide residential and commercial real-estate financing.

I work with various wholesale lenders and investors, so I am able to find quality financing for (almost) any situation.

Carpet & Upholstery cleaning

I own a Carpet & Upholstery cleaning business. Been in the industry for 14 yrs. Opened this business up last year. I do not do steam cleaning. This is a water-based carbonated cleaning system using bonnet pads to extract the dirt out using a floor buffer. My opinion, it is a much better process and healthier.
I service the East Valley and Casa Grande.
