maybe use one of the cogs from the cassette you took off and get some custom spacers made with the correct inside diameter?
MTB convert to SS - Hub Question
I have an old mountain bike which I am converting into a single speed. When I removed the cassette from the rear wheel hub, the hub is wide and will not accept aftermarket spacers or cogs.
I was just going to replace the wheel sets, along with the crankset, and added the ss conversion kit. But I wanted to know if I can do anything about the unusual sized hub I have.
Did anyone else ever have this problem?

Good idea, and you can use the spacers from said cassette and 1-2 others.
