I can't post links, but if you Google "bikenewyork", that website has a list of bike rentals in the city... I'd call them first to make sure they rent legit mountain bikes however, and not just hybrids.

PEAK Bikes in Douglaston Queens rents Konas. They are very near LIRR station.
