Talked with a few folk at the Hamilton SB ride that have not done Diablo yet.

Diablo is a great climb. Any interest in a group ride? Its a bit more of a PITA to get to from the Peninsula than Hamilton, but its worth it.

This is a good time of year to hit it. Wild flowers should be out soon and the hills are green. Not to mention the temp should be kept in check.

Saturday or Sunday is good with me. Lets aim for March 5th, 6th.

We have an A and B ride option.

how does it compare to Mt. Hamilton? You do need someone to come in dead last...i may be available....
It's about 20% shorter in time. Mh 1:40 diablo 1:20

It's pretty tame until about 3 miles to go. It pitches up but nothing crazy. At least not until the final 50 yards and the wall. Pictures actually show how steep the wall is.

You wont be last my gf who rides like 10 times a year is coming.

I think climbing Mt Diablo is easier. the grade up Diablo is steeper for most of the ride. For Diablo, you start at 500ft and ride to 3,800 ft over 10 miles, with no descents. Hamilton you probably start at 200 or so and go to 4,200, plus you lose 800 ft along the way over 20 miles. Probably just depends what your strength is.

Either way, hope to see everyone in Oct.

This is going to be a sweet ride guaranteed to be mud free. There may be a beer or two since EBrider will be there.
You making it? How is the back?

Meeting at Athenian School

Not sure where my Pin on the map went, but the parking lot is the first right after you turn onto Scenic Blvd.
