I assume there are plenty of people out there that are using mp3 players while doing sports. what headphones are you guys using that won't fall out of your ears? the earbuds that came with the samsung i just got fall out just walking around sometimes so i know i won't be able to run or ride with them. and please no "thats just too dangerous comments". i really don't care. start your own whine thread on the dangers of picking your nose while driving if you must.

Same here on the stock Apple I-Pod earphones. I'm just gonna pick up some cheap, in yer ear silicone rubber types.
I use a cheap set of sony headphones. They're about $12/pair and last me about a year a pair. Flexible enough I can pull them out to chat w/ some one. The earpieces fit right in my ear. Love them so far.
i use a set made by Phillips. the earbuds have rubber around them so they don't slip out. i think they were about $15.
Another ear bud user here....mine are the sony erricsson walman ones, like the normal walkman ones and ipod. they don't come out. Mine cmae with 3 different size rubber bits, so different ear hole sizes can be accounted for.

Although I think they must super glue them in the actors/dancers ears on the iPOD adverts lol.

the pretty expensive shure ones---the sound really does beat to hell the cheapie types. That's when I'm spinning on the trainer. Governments everywhere ought to make it a law banning celphones and headphones while riding or driving (in most instances).
I just use the standard iPod earbuds and I haven't had much trouble. I put my helmet straps on over the wires and my buds are held in pretty well.
Oakley Thump, no cords is a plus, and the controls are easy to get too.
Koss Sporta Pro

great sounding headphones.. lots of bass for people who like it.. "open" design that allows for outside sounds to be heard.. strap can go over top or around back of head.. fit inside helmet or over hat.. take abuse (vibration, water, snow, dirt).. fold into a small little ball for storage.. available at a lot of places for less than $20.
Sounds...

more like you're whining about the whiners. But if it's me coming up behind you and I politely let you know I'll be passing and you can't hear me don't whine when I bump your @ss off the trail. ;-p Try duct tape around the head to hold the ear buds in.

Until you said this "i really don't care. start your own whine thread on the dangers of picking your nose while driving if you must." and became what you don't like it was a decent post. So of course I felt obligated(it being the Christmas season and a time of giving) to piss on your campfire just a bit.

Happy Holidays.
thanks for the helpful feedback guys.

I'm intrigued by your ideas and would like to subsribe to your newsletter.
I posted about these in the training forum as well. I came across them this morning, read some reviews, and they look pretty promising. I've never ridden with headphones, but I do enjoy music for any other time I work out.

These are great. They block out the sound of wind and everything else you dont want ot hear while riding.
no ear phones for me...

I like to be able to hear the trail and other riders. Personally I think that it just takes away one of your scences that is there to help you not get killed. Same thing with snowboarding.

Just my two bits.

I ride with the Sony earbuds MDR-EX71 when riding solo. two of my favorite things are riding and listening to music. it really helps me get through the sh*t in my head. when i'm riding with other people, i generally dont use the headphones, especially when i'm riding with Porchsong as he will take me down on the trail. i like to hear him coming. :) i dont like snowboarding with headphones, though. i think maybe i'm not as comfortable with my surroundings...
yeah!

Get the grado PA-100. I highly doubt they're in your local town(maybe at a high-end audio store), but they're well worth the price tag.

I bought a set of these based on repeated glowing reviews. I hate them for anything exercise-related. Seriously, they suck the moment the tiniest bit of sweat touches them and if my head's moving at all. Running is worse than riding. If I'm sitting in a plane or car and want to shut out every bit of sound except the music, they're quite nice. But not for exercise.
