Hay guys, tommrow, me and my family are heading to cape cod on vacation from upstate ny, and origionally I was going to bring the road bike but I herd there is mountain biking there. We will be staying in the Falmouth area of cape cod. We wil be staying there from the 6th to the 10th. I was wondering if there were any good trails in this part of cape cod. If so direct me to them, and if anyone is free and instered in showing me around, shoot me a pm, and I will give you my cell phone number, and we will go from there. If the links don't work, just look them up in the trail reviews section. You may also notice 'Otis Atwood,' this is, I believe, part of Trail of Tears, or at least adjacent to it.

I've ridden both... not technically difficult IMO, but typical of the (limited) riding available on the Cape... Sandy/loamy roller coaster type riding... lots of fast ups and downs w/ good flow. Otis is probably closer to Falmouth, but neither is all that far, just watch the traffic on Fri and Sun afternoons.

I've only ridden Otis once, but I've hit Trail of Tears a few times and it makes for a fun loop.. I've usually ridden out from the trail head in the woods on one side of the power lines and back on the other, but there's lots of ways to mix it up and link different section together.

Willow Street isn't far from you and Pine St (east) sounds cool, but you'll have to go back over the bridge (keep weekend Cape Traffic firmly in mind... would suck to be stuck in traffic at the bridges while you're family scarfs beer and lobster rolls in your absence)

If you are staying in Falmouth, just go to Otis, it's big enough to keep you happy for the weekend. As already recommended, check out the map from bikerag: http://www.bikerag.com/index2.htm There is an entrance right at the intersection of Routes 151 and 28, park where you see a dirt mound, take the first right after that mound and follow that single track, crossing the powerlines section and your in.

There's a lot of fun stuff in Otis and it's very different than most of the riding areas in Mass in that it is very smooth and swoopy and fast. The more technical section is the 'graveyard' trail. There are some natural and manmade stunts too. Have a good time, bring tick repellent!

PM me if you have any questions. I usually ride there on weekends, but won't be there this weekend. I'm sure there are groups that go out regularly too, though I've never ridden with them.

Yeah, Otis is the way to go. Nicest place to ride near Falmouth. For my first rides there I'd just go off letting myself get lost and enjoy the ride. The trails are very roller coaster: up, down, and circling back on themselves... I'd ride until I felt tired and then spend an hour trying to find my way back to the car. The last hour would make my legs turn to jelly... to the point where I felt like I couldn't ride nor walk... good stuff

Besides the mentioned repellent (deet), bring lots of water and some backup food.

Hay guys, I think I am going to hit oitis tommrow, and I would like to know how hard it is to get there from the seacrest resort, becasue that is where I am coming from. Also if anyone would be willing to meet me there feel free to do so. I will probably be going there around 11 ro 12 tommrow. Also does anyone know where that bike shop is located and what their phone number is.

Should be very easy to get to from seacrest. Find your way back to Route 28-A, head north and take right onto Rte 151 heading east. Go under highway (Rte 28) and on left near the on ramp for 28N look for a small dirt parking area with dirt mound. Go in there.
Just guessing, but it's probably less than 2 miles from seacrest.

Not sure what bike shop you're referring to, I think there's one called True Wheel? up in Pocassett, not far from Falmouth.

I just was riding otis, and the trail is not a bad trail. It was long, and the trails were pretty quick. I ended up getting lost, and I kept ending up at the biggest hill with the deck type thing on top. Btw, that was an ausome view of the ocean. I also ended up getting three ticks on me. So about the trail of tears, now how hard is it to get there from the same hotel I am at, becasue I want to ride that trail tommrow. Thanks for your help steevo.
