Its not spam! I went last year and it was a blast! I'm going again next year and hope to see lots of you guys there. I'm not the event promoter, just a very well satisfied participant!

So what, they just signed up.

Just joined and posted the same message on six different boards within minutes of each other. That's spam.
Maybe he/she's just being anon to avoid possible flame deluge (thinking back on the Gravy Wheel debate). And just how long does it take to post to multiple forums anyway? No dif then alot of people having For Sale items at the bottom of their sigs now.....

Hell,

if it's spam, I bit hard. I forwarded the link to a few friends. It sounds pretty darn inviting if you ask me...

"The campground is on over nine acres along the bank of the Willamette River. Combine nearly 500 miles of singletrack, 100's of cyclists, two days of camping, three squares/day, Fat Tire Beer Garden and tons of demo bikes"

We need more of this kind of spam

You don't seem to understand the definition of spam. Most spam is about a legit product. The posting guidelines say
"...why we remove certain messages:
6. The message has been posted to more than 2 boards. Posting the same message to multiple boards is spam, and all posts may be removed and the user may be banned. Please post to the most relevant board only, no more than 2. "

Further discussion on this topic is also spam. ;)

Mt Bike OR...from the promoter

Hello All

Guess it's a great time for me to say something

I am the promoter and I did not just join MTBR and I did not post anything about Mt Bike Oregon in over a week....so I am not whom is doing the postings you are talking about lately....no idea who it is.

I have been ASKED by many on boards to keep them updated. We had people from 7 states last year and 70% of the people found out about the event on MTBR.com and yes we ran paid ad's too on this site! We had people from Maine and NY come last year, so yes I did post on a number of sites because I was ASKED to, but no post lately.

If someone is excited about this event and wants to talk with others about it I really don't see what the issue is or for that matter if I update people as they asked it should not be an issue either. Right now over 70% of the people signed up are from N. Cali.

I am a Mt Biker just like all of you...I am putting on a fun event for Mt Bikers...if you look at the price it is clear we are not making a lot...yes I wil make a little, but you'll have a kick ass time too and be treated well...it is all about having fun and showing off the awesome riding we have here.

Please let me know if you have any questions

Thanks
Randy

Mt Bike Oregon Post

I surfed around and you are right someone is posting on other sites...I have no idea whom it is...looks like someone that is into the event sharing a blog site with others to me not sure why that is a bad thing, besides they posted on too many sites in one day.

Also I noticed all the replies minus the person on the N Cali board have been good and people are excited about the event.

Plus it says this person is now banned anyway who ever they are.

Take care all

Hello All Again

I thought it was time I reply, so people would not think that the promoter was using MTBR in anyway or breaking rules.

I just want people to get in some great rides and have a fun time.

As I said I am ALWAYS open to answer questions

Take Care

Mt Bike Oregon Price

D

The honest answer to how we can do it at that price is...we are in debt from last year and most likely will not be out of debt until 2007, BUT if you know you have a great event and know it will grow ...you move on and that is what we are doing

Plus we save on food cost and you guys get better meals by using the local Kiwains and Moose Lodge to make the meals...they cost way less then a catering company and the food is local and better in the end anyway. The local Mt Bike Club DOD are your guides and work for food and beer, sometimes people tip them.

It is a real win win for the riders, the locals and everyone

By the way there is a new Mt Bike Oregon DVD with about another 7 minutes of video if anyone would like one please e-mail me at [email protected]

Thanks
Randy

I agree. The price is too low, but Randy wants to make sure he gets lotsa attendance. I helped as a guide last year, and can say that everyone had a great time. It's a low key event that showcases some of the best trails in Oregon, and makes the whole trip simple for ya.

By the way, Niconico was definitely spamming, but sometimes spam tastes pretty good.
