Mountain bike - buying advice.

I don't get why all these threads are coming into the AM thread section. I know we are sweet riders and people want to be like us.. but enough is enough. Your links aren't working, at least not for me. In all honesty if your riding it on the rode it doesn't matter, I'm sure they all have around the same specs for the price.
However I will answer your question. Look into getting a commuter style bike that has mountain bike characteristics. You can get a Raleigh/Diamondback, both make commuter bikes that make road riding nice and easy, but they offer a suspension fork, disc brakes etc and are the around the same price range.
