I did a search on chainline, and found some older info. I'll ask a direct question to those running x-type bottom brackets. How are your spacers set up?

What did you set your chainline to? Race Face gives you the options of 48-50mm.

I was going to start with 49 which I beleive is one spacer on the drive side, and one on the non-drive side (I need to pull out the old instructions and refresh my memory).

Thanks

No spacers...

...on my 05 ML. I run a RF Deus w/bash ring and an older XTR 960 FD. When I tried to use a spacer, I had too much x-chaining when in the middle ring/big cog.

Still looking for more input?

I tried 48mm on mine with a 2008 XT front derailleur. There was plenty of chain clearance to the frame, but the derailleur is designed such that it will not swing in far enough for smooth shifting to the small ring on a Race Face Deus XC crank. With it spaced over to 50mm it shifted fine. I have since replaced the BB cups with one Shimano and one Truvativ (gotta use what's available!) and the chainline came out to maybe 49mm. Shifting was not as crisp, but a little "restyling" of the derailleur cage had it shifting smoothly again.
