I might join you all, I usually ride 5:30 am but think I can make it into work later on Tue.
What are you all riding, driving, etc??
Woa! Someone who rides even earlier than I do!

I drive a silver CR-V with a hitch rack and ride a blue and yellow Jekyll. I'll be with at least one other guy riding a HT stumpjumper.

What about you?

Ride Report

Richard Eddy and I each managed to be at the Falcon lot 5 or 10 minutes before 6:AM this morning and we were riding by 6. I should mention that the "Flake Factor" was pretty high this session, since two of the guys (you know who you are) who were "in" phoned me last night with regrets. I guess Greg is having a hard time fitting riding into his tight "Got nothing to do till I head off to grad school" schedule, or maybe he's just practicing his sleeping in skills. Whatever it was, I'd like to hear about it sometime, since it was obvious he was phoning from some bar and didn't want to explain right then. He could only laugh and say "I um, I'm not gonna make it".

As we did the crank to the gazebo, the sun was just coming up over the hogback. At the top I suggested doing a loop, but it was already 6:40am or so. I couldn't sell it I guess because 6:AM is a bit of a late start for Richard, since he usually rides at 5:30am...And since he works in Golden can go ride Apex at lunch whenever he wants to. (yes, I'm jealous) Instead we traded our favorite South Park and Chapelle's show episodes and headed down.

It was a good ride, though as I sat in the middle of the 8:AM commuter traffic on C470 I kept telling myself that I should have done that loop up top to put me on the other side of the 8:AM commute. Next time.

Anyone up for Thursday?

I MAY be up for a thurs morn ride. Outta curiosity, so I get a general idea how fast y'all ride, what gear would you say you climb Falcon to the bench in? I do it in 1-1 and sometimes 1-2 with a relatively high cadence....guess I don't really care though if I get dropped though.

[LIE]I never come out of the middle ring and made it up in just under 30 minutes. Richard was just ahead of me. [/LIE]

Ok, I made it in approx 40 minutes, but we stopped at the halfway mark for a bit. Richard was ahead of me by couple minutes or so, and I think he could have smoked me.

Is that too slow?

I usually do slightly better, but since I had my second kid 3 weeks ago, I haven't been sleeping and with the Tour being on and it being BBQ season, yada yada yada.

Try and make it Thursday. I can ride anything from Deer Creek to Apex in the mornings.

Too slow!?!?! That may be too fast. :D I'll plan to motivate myself early Thursday morn. I'd prefer something more north, since I have to get up to Boulder to work. Falcon would be fine and same for Apex. Probably rather skip on the likes of Dakota Ridge/Matthew winters, as I won't be functioning on all cylinders in the morn.

Apex sounds good to me, so if you commit to Thursday at Apex, we'll ride Apex...

What say you?
