I got one

Best guide book I've ever seen. Indispensible for my time in MT. I kept my copy because I'm going back to do some of the rides I didnt' get to when I lived there.

Beartooth publishing needs to publish a Vol 2 with 50 more great rides--they're surely out there--I can think of at least a dozen more right off the top of my head (provided they don't all get put off limits by the USFS or new Wilderness designation).

I live in CO now, but many of my best singletrack memories are from MT--great folks and great rides!

Got mine this week. Headed to Helena Saturday.
It's a great guidebook in general, but if you want to ride more than the Mt. Helena Ridge, I'd recommend stopping into a bike or outdoor shop (Great Divide Cyclery or The Base Camp, say) and picking up a copy of the South Hills trail map for $8. The other highlighted Helena rides are just short loops in a larger system, and the map would show you the rest of the system.

Thanks, will do. I am renting a bike from Great Divide. I am pretty familiar with Mt Helena from hiking it when we lived at the bottom. It has been a while though.

The rides in the book covering the Kalispell/Whitefish area are: Krause meadows, Big Mountain (now Whitefish Resort), Round meadows, Reid divide, Bill Creek, Ashley Mtn.
They left out the best ride up there IMO (Alpine Trail #7).
Check out this link....http://thedailyhabit.wordpress.com/local-rides/dirt-rides/

This is from the Great Northern Bike Shop in Whitefish. The book shows all it's rides as DT up and ST but Craig (shop owner) has maps showing same rides as mostly ST. He is agood guy and a good resource.

Got it, great book and has inspired me to get out to areas I would not have normally considered ...... like Helena, did The Ridgeline from the brewery 2 weeks ago and did not see a soul, which was strange I thought for a Friday evening .... and the beer tasted great at the end ;)
