Looking at the canaan elite it has great specs, but will a mongoose have (if I need to) a resale market or is it going to be hard to do anything with it cause folks think it is a wally brand?? I know it has great components deore xt, but does the name have a big impact on the value later on???? I am not a brand snob, but I also do not want something that will be a hard resale?? Also looked at Giant Anthem 3 or what about the specialized?? I have Up to app 2000 to spend??

The people who will be interested in the Canaan Elite will know it's not a "Wally Brand", especially if you resell the bike on eBay. You shouldn't worry about reselling the bike and the aftermarket value shouldn't dictate which bike you choose. Go with what you feel most comfortable with (both ergonomically and budget-wise) and enjoy the sport.

But to answer your question, the Specialized would probably generate the most common interest.
