So the Ibis site lists that the MojoHD Headset for 1+1/8" Straight steerer tube is ZS44/28.6 | EC49/30.

The EC49/30 is external cup, could you not run a ZS (zero stack) lower cup to lower the front end with a 180mm fork? Wouldn't this make the bike a tad more trail friendly? I'm assuming the front end is coming down like 5mm or so with the ZS vs EC...right?

Does it *have* to be an EC, or is a ZS ok?

Sorry, missed this one..
The ZS carries the bearing inside the frame, so it's a different size and a larger bore would be required. It looks like you found the correct info already on the Ibis web site.
