Good story! We just went there yesterday and had a blast, that first mile or so up hill was a killer. We have only ever gone out eight and back eight. Gonna have to ride the rest of the trail now after your description of it.
I just completed the whole trail myself last weekend. I think the section after the covered bridge is way more grueling than the first mile. Maybe just more tired.the bionic knee said:Congrats!! Doing the whole trail is no easy task. I finally completed the whole loop this spring. After the covered bridge, the trail picks up again immediately to the right. You missed the grueling climb to the next trailhead marker at the start of the Endor forest. AAAIIIEEEE!!! The Ewok forest section is a blast to ride!! That's my favorite section, too. Fast, flowing and fast--like a roller coaster!!
Now think of all the guys that did the Mohican 100!!
I understand that. It's been a while since riding a trail had left me feeling that I accomplished something. Brown Co was the last one after I biked/hiked the Hesitation Point trail, or Ft Custer 2 red loops and 2 green... but those had a fairly easy out if I really thought I was done before I finished. Not so at Mohican.jeffw-13 said:Ran out of water at about 20 miles and began cramping at 22. Next time I'll start at the covered bridge so i can enjoy the second 12 miles as much as I did the first 12 today.
Devildog,Devildog said:Hey guys, my shop is planning a camping trip on the weekend of 14 Nov. i was wondering what yal think about the Mohican State Park trails this time of year and if anyone would consider planning a ride sometime that weekend. From the 6 of us going, 3 of us have mountain bikes an 2 of us are regular weekend riders. We are Marines, so I don't think fitness would be too much of an issue. I'm not sure if the other two would be up for the full 24 mile loop, but I am willing to try it no matter how long it takes. Any input on trail conditions and camping info would be greatly appreciated.
