Sorry to start another MKIII vs Azure thread but I can't make my mind on these two bikes and there are no IH dealers in Houston for me to try them. I ride XC so the Azure should be fine for the riding I do. However, whatever bike I get will share the garage with my steel hardtail. The MKIII should be more different to the hardtail than the Azure because of the additional travel but is that really an advantage living in Houston where trails are mostly flat?

It depends on how rough your terrain is. If there are few hills then the extra weight of the
mkiii won't be noticed much. It will be a fun bike to blast around on.

The Azure will still be way different than your hardtail. It is a super all around xc/trail bike.
f you like to do a few jumps and drops and are heavy, go with the mkiii.
If you want to race it, go with Azure.
I have lots of hills and do race xc, so I went for the Azure.
I like more every time I ride it.
