Has anyone upgraded to a different ride kit on their Minute 3? Does anyone know what the original ride kit is, ie. firm, medium or soft? If so, what were the results?

I could be wrong, but I thought the Minute 3 is air sprung, so no spring kit change needed.

The Minute 1 is coil with adjustable travel
The Minute 2 is air, but fixed travel at 100 or 130 models
The Minute 3 is air with adjustable travel

Give Manitou a call, the fellas there are really helpful and you'll the answer straight from the horse's mouth.

I ride a Minute 1 with comes with the medium spring, as do most forks in stock form.

They do make ride kits for the air forks (2 and 3). I installed the firm ride kit in my Minute 3 and it makes a noticeable difference as the fork nears the last 2 inches of travel as the spring is the bottom out of the travel. I find that the fork works much better for me after the kit was installed as I weigh 220 and the kit was only $20 from LBS. A good excuse to rip the fork lowers off and change fluid too.

Downside is that if you lock the fork down to the 4" mode, it is nearly locked out as the ride kit is compressed in the lockout therefore compressing a stiffer spring than stock. The fork can be further compressed when locked down, but it takes a good shove to get it going so it is road climb only in my book.
