Minoura Rim Drive Trainer question

862 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  nspace
I am looking to get a bike trainer, a Minoura Rim Drive model. I figured because I am running a mtb, it would be more quiet with the rim drive, my only concern is that I have disc rims, so there is no flat machine brake wall. Will the rim drive still work for this type of rim or am I better to go with the other type that puts resistance on the tire?

Thanks!

The rollers on the rim drive model are contoured on the sides, so they'll still get traction/friction. I tried using my Mavic disc rims and it worked fine.
Sweet thanks for the info, definitely going to look into the rim drive then.
