There is a nice little peace in todays Seattle Times about encouraging recreational use of the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River to Mountain Bikers and Hikers. Anyone who has lived in King County for the past 20 years or so and has biked or hiked knows that the Middle Fork was an extremely dangerous place to go. A lot of it didnt hit the newspapers but it was pretty well know as a hang out for druggers, thieves, etc. When it was at its worst there was probably better than even odds that your car would either get stolen or vandalized if you left it unattended. Plus it seemed to be a good place to dump bodies. The cleanup of the area has been taking place for the past few years Mountain bikers will get to use the road/trail on odd numbered days in a compromise with hikers and equestrians. The road trail goes quite aways-I dont think its an "epic" ride but its probably a pretty nice family type ride.
