With about a month left until the first race, the Michigan Scholastic Cycling Association (MiSCA) has surpassed 1,000 registered riders and is close to reaching maximum capacity for each of its six scheduled races. Due to the growth in interest, next year MiSCA will move to a full weekend of racing to accommodate the number of students that want to race. MiSCA continues to be one of the few scholastic leagues in the country that offers race categories for students from elementary to high school ages.

It gets them started at a young age and is something that the parents can usually do with them, either as coaches or on their own. Many of the first elementary students are now racing in high school.
