It's pronounced Mishow. The trails are open all the time but I would advise riding during deer season (late Nov, early Dec) except on Sundays.

It's pretty rocky and the trails don't get too muddy unless it really downpours for a few days in a row.

Yea, Michaux is definately a nice ride. It is full of rocks so prepare to be bounced around and prepare for at least one flat. The trails are wicked, they are designed for ATV's not bikes so they are not the easiest. What is easy is medium and expert is pure insanity. The races where just held there sunday by the way

yup, check the link to the maps...the expert/monster map has a trail called rattlesnake ridge. It's on the upper right side of the map. You can run shuttles by driving up michaux road to ridge road. Or ride up that way. Or ride up dead womans hollow, to three mile trail, to the rattlesnake ridge dh....just like on the upper part of the maps trail in red. There are others, but it would probably be best to hook up with a local with knowledge of the area.
