My left leg and toe came from riding in sandals and bunny hopping and my foot sliding out of my sandal and on to the pavement below. My right leg came from going off a 3 foot drop and having my foot fall off the pedal. There was still skin and some leg hair on the pedal when I looked later.

Hmmm. Riding with sandals doing hops, drops and you get hurt. Can't imagine why. Perhaps some shin armor would be appropriate when riding with sandals?

I see some mosquito bites on your shin but nothing tragic.

Actually, I smacked myself in the shin once and needed to get 11 stitches, and then it became infected. That was fun. Didn't think it was much, but the blood kept pooling around my sock, no matter how much gauze I wrapped around it. Then the doctor and I were joking about what looked like a blot clot sticking up from the wound. "Better, stick that back in," he said, "That's a little piece of swollen muscle sticking out." Shin injuries are a hoot!:thumbsup:

I hear riding with shoes is the way to go. Sandals don't exactly offer the protection you might be needing.
