Yep, but I hydrate for 1-2 hours before with electrolyte mix and then pound the water on the ride from the get go and plan the distance so I do NOT run out of water...If you are not pissing on the ride then you are not taking in enough water.....and mix in some shot bloks during the ride also and it has seemed to work....

From someone that rides where it gets really hot , hydration , hydration , hydration . Don't wait until you get thirsty , its too late at that point . Electrolytes , you need them , with your water . Drink plenty .

I rode Sunday at high noon and that wasnt alot of fun....and I rode tonight but for only 45 minutes before I had to head home. I am NOT a hot weather rider but cant drive by Nass on the way home and not ride..even in this stuff.

I was cracking up my wife over that theory. I had to stop MTB'ing about 10 years ago because of kidney stone issues(I still have to be careful today)and they said I wasnt drinking enough before and during the ride plus the banging you take...esp where I was riding all the time then(Nepaug) can cause "stone" issues. So now I really drink alot but about 50 minutes in I have to piss. So Sunday I was mentioning how I'd like to try the Winding Trails fall mtb race but I wondered how the racers would feel if I suddenly stopped to take a piss blocking the single track.... Need a Camelbak piss pack...

And for sure....Nass=FUN though I'm not really in the Nass part....I'm a 49 year old marshmellow (as far as endurance not size) who rides both sides of Scoville Rd....but not into Nass itself. But I'm having a blast again!
