In the "Down The Trail" section of the Jan issue of MBA, they talked about the "50 mountain bike designs that changed the world".

At the top of the page was the San Andreas "Classic".

This is a quote from MBA...

"Mountain Cycle San Andreas: This monocoque, dual suspension, inverted fork, disk-braked bike originally appeared in the November 1992 issue and sold for $1950 (frame and fork)".
"Still a magnificent piece of engineering".

Merry X-Mas.

And after taking it out on tight, hilly singletrack and firetrails yesterday, it still is one of the best frames ever made. Only on thing I'd change with the design; and all I have to do to make it the all time best bike I own is swap the 38T for a 36T.... and buy a new Push Fox shock for it.

Yeah my San An just keeps on trucking, I recon its done over 6000 trail miles now.
Its eaten it's way through 2 sets of wheels, 3 forks, 2 rear shocks, countless drive train components.
But the frame is still sound and still rides as great as it always did.

Its one of main reason's i'll probably never buy another brand of frame.

Keep up the good work MC.
