MBOSCers,We were very happy to see so many familiar faces at the BLM Public Scoping Meetings for public access to the Cotoni Coast Dairies National Monument! Thank you to everybody who made time to attend these meetings and speak-up for trail access. Everybody who stood-up for trails shared thoughtful comments and represented us as a user group in the best possible way! Here's an overview of what people had to say at the two public scoping meetings:

Letter Writing Workshop @ Santa Cruz Bicycles

Friday, July 26, 5:00-7:00pm
Join MBOSC and Santa Cruz Bicycles this Friday to write a letter to the BLM stating your support for mountain bike access at CCDNM! We'll have everything you need, including stamped and labeled envelopes, pre-written letters, blank paper if you'd like to write your own, and talking points. This is a really easy way to show your support. Santa Cruz Bicycles will be showing their new 50to10 movie in the showroom, and beer from Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery will be aplenty. All you have to do is show up! Remember that public planning is decided by those who show up!
Thanks for making your voice heard!

Text Cob at (831) 588-4104 if you have questions or to let him know you'll be there. Thank you!
GRANT PARK PUMPTRACK IS OPEN
The City Parks and Recreation Department hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, July 19 at 4:00pm to celebrate the new pumptrack in Grant Park. The "Grant Park Neighbors" group enthusiastically supported the pumptrack's installation at the Grant Park, and it has been a welcomed addition to the park. Riders of all shapes and sizes lined up to try it out immediately and it has been heavily utilized ever since. Get more details here.
TRAIL CLOSURES IN SDSF & NISENE
Some trails to be closed in SDSF and Nisene Marks as CAL FIRE and State Parks work to reduce wildfire danger. Some trails and access points may be closed for 2-4 weeks, during the daytime on weekdays as crews shred and crush brush along the summit-area roadways. Work is expected to begin mid to late July, and will likely take 4+ weeks to complete. Click here for more details.
