OK, so I know that this is going to make me sound like an idiot and I would rather not admit to it, but hey if it will help someone I figured I may as well post it right?

I have been having some squeaks on my bike that I could not figure out. They were hard to reproduce and usually hard to nail down exactly where it was coming from. So I finally greased every pivot I could find. Still could hear the noise. It sounded like it was coming from the bottom pivot, but I could hear the sound through the whole bottom bar. Long story short I had a friend come over to compress the suspension while I tried to track it down..then I found it. It was my cables moving up and back just a tiny ammount in the locations that hold them to the bottom of the frame as the rear suspension traveled. I put a bit of grease in all the locations and it is quiet as can be.

Not sure that is the only squeak I was hearing when I was on my ride, but it for sure was one of the loudest.

Hope this may help someone at the expense of making me look dumb..ha

Nice find... squeaks are a pain to track down, so there is no shame ;)

Good to know that you found it... and might be able to help another tribe member by posting it here..
