This is an ongoing issue and cant seem to figure out why....

e13 Carbon Wheel , 27.5 DHR II , EXO, Maxx Terra 3C , 27.5 x 2.8 30-35PSI

Tire bead breaks, pops and in the second picture you can see the premature wear . looks like the rim is rubbing on the rubber and showing wear marks along whole tire.

No issues with the rim. LBS confirmed rim is fine.

Why??? Thoughts ?

That is a lot of pressure in a tire that size. A tire that big with those pressures puts a huge load on rim and tire bead. I suspect that is why the bead is failing.

How much to you weigh?
what do you recommend TP at ?

heavy rider for sure....330LBS wet. ex outside LB who gets paid to be big :)

i ride the piss out of it.....Never had a issue until the last 6 months.

Also, its a EMTB, YT Decoy Pro Race

Your size on a e-bike. 25psi, DH casing and Cush core.
So less TP is better ? I ran a cushcore and was not impressed.

i prefer a solid rear and less front.

right now I run 32front and 35rear

DH casing or DD sidewall in maxxis is almost impossible to find in a 2.8 or even a 2.6

To use a car analogy. You are running light SUV tire on a loaded1-ton pickup truck.

Proper tough casing is going to give you the support you are trying to get through high pressure. You will have a tire that will both conform to the ground and be stable and supportive.

An EXO casing tire is really design for a moderately aggressive 170lb rider at most.

Yeah you're 330 lbs and running a light duty plus tire at its absolute max psi. Most people run like half that pressure in those tires. You need a tire with a higher load range. Switch to 2.5" DD or DH casing is probably your best bet. However, WTB does make the Vigilante in their Tough casing in 2.6 and 2.8".

Some pretty low pressure suggestions. I'm 220 and ride hard in rocky terrain. I need 32r 28f to keep from getting rock strikes, burping the tire, etc. I do have to have a DD rear and exo front.

Keep the pressures you have but upgrade casing and I bet it solves your issues.

I've had the same issue, exact same bead seperation, with two different Ardents. Looks like a defect to me. I just tossed them and moved on. There's better tires for where I live anyway. I was running RF alloy rims and buffed the sharp edges with fine grit just in case.
This damage is to the exterior of the bead. Are the reinforced tires, EXO and DD, any beefier in this area? I thought those versions were just thicker on the inside of the sidewalls.
