Are the maxxis overdrives a good tire for street and very light trail use and would they fit a alex td24 rim( i dont know the measurements and dont have a set of calipers)?

The Overdrives should fit your rim fine, and they're great for the road. I wouldn't really recommend them for the trail unless your talking about a leisurely ride on a nice hardpacked surface. The Holy Roller might fit your bill, though.

The Holy rollers are a DJ/URban semi slick, kinda heavy, but I find it very hard to beleive that a super tacky nobby tire would roll faster. You might be thinking of the high rollers, which are a DH tire. Holy rollers are awesome for Hardpack and loose over hardpack.
