It looks like Maxxis recently changed the tpi of their EXO+ casing from 120 to 60 tpi. However, I can't find any mention of this online. Anyone have any inside info on when and why??

120 tpi casings tend to tear more easily. This looks like EXO with the butyl insert making it EXO+, no more silkshield either.

I'm guessing the 120 tpi carcass + Silkshield didn't really add anything over a regular 60 tpi carcass. The butyl inserts should help with pinch flats and maybe add a bit of sidewall stiffness.

It would be interesting to see someone do a back to back comparison.

So... EXO+ should actually be more puncture resistant then?

I was hearing lots of reports of people saying they actually got more reliability issues with EXO+, than they did with standard EXO. Perhaps this is to address this sort of problem.
Do they plan to actually glue the tread to the casing on this version?

No, that's not how tires are made.
So this is why the dissector that was supposed to be a hair under 800g was a hair over 900g?
