Maxle Squeak

I have a brand-new Boxxer Team and I just put in the Maxle after I took off the wheel to change a tire. For some reason, it made a weird squeaky noise as I tightened the disc-brake side that makes the Maxle expand. It did not do this as I took it off, and on a tutorial I saw on Youtube, it didn't make that noise. Did I do something wrong, or is this a normal noise? Also, how tight should it be? Something about that noise doesn't seem normal to me. I followed all of the directions.
