I recently transitioned to 29" and want to put as big of a tire up front for snow riding. Fox 36 (Rhythm) lists 2.8" as the max certified tire size but has anyone actually tried e.g. a Maxxis DHF in 3"? 2.8" would otherwise be fine except that this size in 29" basically doesn't exist as a mainstream tire option unlike in 27.5". On my 27.5" I was able to fit a 3" on my Yari with room for a mud guard too.

Answering my self: According to this thread a 3" DHF should fit

29+ suspension forks?

If I could reduce the travel to ~140mm I'd be all over this. N's college fund begs to differ.

3” DHF clears the fork arch but it might hit the bikes frame when the fork is bottomed out.
