What is the general consensus on using Maxima MX suspenion/fork oil for mtn bike forks? I only ask because I have plenty Maxima 20w in the shop if it's a suitable substitute for the RS high dollar stuff. I have a sneaking suspicion it's all about the same thing...suspension oil. But why not ask here. I could very easily be wrong.

Maxima is commonly used in bikes, it's good stuff

That 20wt is likely too thick for a damper and thin for legs though.

Ok yeah I was going to use it for a lower leg rebuild. It's a 2019 RS Revelation fork. SRAM calls for 0-30w oil. Hmmmmm...to use or not to use...

From what I understand the bath oil can be regular weight motor oil so your Maxima 20W may be fine. Light weight suspension fluid goes in the damper. The new RS spec oil for the damper is Maxima Plush, not sure if 3 or 5W.
