It's a good looking fork. Considerably stiffer than the DUC32. I heard Ethan claim it's stiffer than the Fox 40, but I'm not so sure about that. From what I was told, the innards are basically the same as the DUC32, just longer.

It's good cause you get to upgrade for extra performance.

When it starts leaking, you can get the blue seals, when it starts sucking down you can upgrade the air seals, and so on. There are lots of uprades for the DUC fork. It works so unperfectly out of the box that you get to upgrade lots of stuff. Think about all the performance possibilities! This was brought to you by the Psylo, Indy and Judy XL.

Seriously, from the posts and required fixes, you have to wonder if they (maverick) actually build bikes to be ridden? It's not that the bikes and forks don't work at all, but it seems that they sacrifice a lot to save weight. If I had one of those bikes and forks, I'd feel like I was riding over eggshells all the time to avoid from breaking it.

I think its time we need a Homer Cool and Uncool wall

This makes the uncool wall of fame for me :D
I gotta agree, it was a blatent troll (not that I won't comment on it).

Some of these companies are so self-destrutive that you can just sit on the sidelines for the most part and watch em, no need really to make posts, especially in the homer board.

I don't really see what is gained by doing it in the first place, if it comes up in some other way then maybe commenting on it is fine.

Other potential issues that people have pointed out aside, I'm not super pumped on the idea of adding another 15mm of travel to the same A/C of a Fox 36 which is already pretty low. Granted I like slack bikes and 15mm isn't a ton of distance, but with proper sag you'll end up with a lower riding A/C and pretty much a constantly steeping head angle vs. another other comparable fork available right now. I suppose this is nice if you want to "over fork" a bike (36 on old Spot anyone) but otherwise I'm not interested. The reliability issues and carbon don't help either IMO.

How long till someone posts up a Mojo w/ one of these on the front?

You dont have to upgrade shite if you set the fork up properly. Also If you do need something from Maverick, its free. Shipping and all.

Not exactly like the $$$'s folks are putting into Push servicing.

You know the problem with these forums, there is too much emotional clatter(bich fests), and its usually coming from the pent up folks who don't get to/or aren't willing to ride enough.

Little things, like a failing seal that ran dry because it's owner doesn't know how to lubricate his equipment(prob. why he might very well have trouble with the ladies too)
Turn into big, bad, emotional rumor fests, driven by those who "are in the know at the desktop", yet are often the ones that crump in the field and walk their bikes because they got too much sand in their pink things.

Sure maybe maverick won't come over to your house, hold your hand and pour the assembly oil in for you, but they'll give you tips on how to customize the fork based on your needs, girth, and terrain. I have been comped seals, dampers, lower leg protectors, stems. My fork was up and running and ripping just fine almost daily at all the Furnace Flat hot spots(phoenix) while I was stuck in chandler finishing school. If I had an issue it was resolved easily, quickly and usually for free.

Give Maverick a break!

Well it's actually more of hive swarming around the usually honey flavored koolaid. And with the DW link, it's mating season.

Well like Jay said it fell into this forum I wouldn't gone looking for it to poke a stick at, but since it turned up, I was happy to have some fun with it, if others want to get upset over it sorry to step on ya toes:thumbsup:

This is toungue and cheek and my warped sense of kiwi humour looks like a Clarkson vs Hammond contest here, to be fair mostly we do this in our own we forum we don't shoot outside the void so chill doods :p

ps I still don't get the LT lightweight thing still think its all a bunch of marketing hype to sell more junk to MTB world, still these are forum s and its about discussions so we don't have to tow the party line dude! If you like it cool enjoy it same with the those who like the LW LT if ya into sweet enjoy it, we all like different trails:thumbsup:

Amazes me though,I read an article on the YZ 250 2 stroke the other day, comparing the YZF 4stoke which makes around peak power of 36 HP the 2 stroke around 45HP the 2 stroke hasn't been updated for 3 years, all the development goes into the 4stroke, yet the 2stroke is 12lbs lighter is faster, cheaper, more technically advanced, has better suspension, is easier to maintain cheaper to rebuild way cheaper to rebuild, but marketing and other influences have killed its popularity even 80cc bikes sell more per year now than the 2stroke 250, it was the peak of evolution, enviro friendly ,quiet in its way, heard a thumpers in a moto!

I use this as an xample of what goes on in MTB maybe a little ove ya heads but there's a code in there :D

If all they did was lighten it I'll pass, the air damping sucked, it was expensive and I don't think the carbon wrap is going to fix either of those issues.
Not sure what you are thinking about, but the duc/suc have been oil damped with a relatively small closed cartridge, kind of like an old judy (hmm, coincidence?). That setup has it's own disadvantages, but it is light, which seems to be their primary goal.
