This is a long shot. About 10 years ago, I bought a pair of Mavic Razor MTB shoes that have an Ergolite ratchet closure. For some reason, I ended up not using them and they sat around until last year when I ended up pulling them out and started wearing them regularly. They've been pretty good until this week, when I broke the plastic lever on the ratchet. All of the replacement ratchets I can find for sale online say they aren't compatible with shoes from before 2012. So two questions:

1) Does anyone know where to get pre-2012 replacement ratchets?

2) If not, is there a way to make the post-2012 ratchet work on a pre-2012 shoe? I haven't seen any explanation of the incompatibility, and the images look pretty similar.

You could try contacting AmerSports in Ogden Utah, the US distributor. Maybe they have a service department?

Are they still the US distributor? From what I found, they sold off Mavic and it's now owned by a private equity firm. I sent an email via the Mavic website "contact us" but haven't gotten any response.

They did sell it off, but just wondering because of the array of brands they sell, perhaps they have a service department there and still have odds and ends. Worth a call.

You're right, it probably would have been worth checking with them anyway. Mavic USA did eventually get back to me to say that they couldn't help me. But I found a used pair of the equivalent road shoes with the same closures for $20 on eBay, so I ordered those and I'll pilfer the ratchet. And if the ratchet outlasts the shoes, I can put it back on the road shoes.
