I don't think the 117s had an XM designation, they were just plain old 117s (maybe x117); the closest in the current aftermarket lineup is probably the XC 717.

Actually the 117 is a bottom of....

the food chain OEM rim. Pinned not welded etc. The 717 is WAY above the 117 in the order of things, and WAY more expensive as well. There really is no aftermarket equivalent that you generally see available. Usually 117's and 221's and the like are seen as pre-built wheel sets that shops keep around for OEM replacement purposes for lower end bikes. The closest you can get aftermarket to the X 117 is the XM 317. Anything below that is pretty much OEM.
