I'm in the process of replacing the bearings on my x-max sl wheelset. The bearings should arrive on my doorstep sometime this evening. While taking the old bearings out of the front hub I noticed that the (end-cap of the axle) part, the one you can pull off by hand, seems to have some play in it. The front hub began making weird noises like the bearings were going out, but now I'm not so sure if the noises were not coming from what seems to be a (loose axle top cap peice). Is it common for this particular part to wear out, needing replacement? Can all the internals be replaced in addition to the bearings?

I'll update tomorrow when the new bearings are installed. I have a feeling that it will continue to make the same noise.
