I recently puchased Mavic EX 823's UST, the place where I bought them said I could also run thes wheels with tubes. Does anyone rides these and what do you think?

You can run non-ust tires with a tube (a rim strip is recommended) or non-ust tires with Stan's Sealant on any UST rim. But why not just run UST?

Actually, Mavic says not to use a rim strip when using tubes with UST rims.

You're right, by the way where do you place the rimstrip. Is it the same as rim tape. I'm new to UST.

I know Mavic says its OK not to use rim strips but the area where they weld the rim together is ofter rough and may puncture your tube so a rim strip at this junction prevents that.
